The St Lucie School District believes in giving parents and students the right to choose which school the student attends. Therefore, the school district is broken down into three zones. Students can attend any school that lies within the zone they live in. Students are required to fill out an application to attend their desired school. Most applications are approved based on availability. However students who have siblings attending their desired school or live within two miles of their chosen school are guaranteed the right to attend that school.

Students who are interested in the arts should consider attending the Fort Pierce Magnet School for the Arts. This school provides a well balanced education while emphasizing art, drama, dance and music.
